GammaLib and ctools are built and tested on a large variety of Linux distributions, on Mac OS X (10.610.11), on FreeBSD and on OpenSolaris. Usage on Windows is not supported. GammaLib is mostly written in C and provides Appli-cation Programming Interfaces (APIs) for C and Python. GammaLib is an object oriented library that comprises over.

Hi, I am Enrico, and I will help you run yourFermi data analysis!

  • Code: https://github.com/gammapy/enrico
  • Issues: https://github.com/gammapy/enrico/issues
  • Documentation: http://enrico.readthedocs.org/
  • Mailing List: http://groups.google.com/group/gammapy_enrico
  • Fermi Science Tools: http://fermi.gsfc.nasa.gov/ssc/

Features¶

  • Get your results easy and fast by using the enrico command line tools.
  • Results are reproducible, because config files and logs are used.
  • The enrico command line tools are just frontends for functions andclasses in the enrico python package, so if you know the Fermi toolsand some python it is easy for you to modify things to your needs.
  • A Graphical User Interface (GUI) has been developed to simply the use of the package.

Enrico is based on a configuration file which contains all the setup for youranalysis. For each enrico tool, you just have to type

GammaLib

Quick setup¶

You need to have the Fermi ScienceTools installed on you machine.

GammaLib

The provided scripts enrico-init.sh will set up enrico for you. Before you needto define few global variables.

Sourcing init_enrico.sh will setup your environment. You can check yourinstallation by typing

For more informations, go to Setup

A simple analysis¶

After you have done the Setup, running an analysis is as simple astyping these commands:

GammaLib

It will create an file named Myconfig.conf. Be sure that it contains all yoursetup. After you should generate an xml file for the sky model :

Now run the likelihood analysis for the full spectrum and data points:

If you like, a light curve or a TS map: Gibbous - a cthulhu adventure deluxe edition download.

Note that if you have a computing cluster at your disposal, thesecompute-time-intensive tasks can be run in parallel.

Finally at the end you should plot your results using:

The FSSC welcomes contributions to the Fermi Science Tools from the scientific community. If you have developed an extension to the science tools or any other tool useful for Fermi data analysis, please let us know and we will post it on this website. While the FSSC will work with the developer to resolve any issues with the software the contribution is provided 'as is' and may not work after a software or data upgrade (e.g. to pass 8 data), updating the tool or script remains the responsibility of the developer. For the moment, please direct any communication to the Help Desk.
